KCM Mourns Sudden Passing of Singer Wheesung

Singer KCM (real name Kang Chang-mo) has paid tribute to the late singer Wheesung (43, real name Choi Wheesung), who passed away unexpectedly.

On March 11, KCM posted a brief message on his Instagram, "We were supposed to meet on March 15... I'm sorry, Seong-ah..." along with a photo of a chrysanthemum.

Wheesung was found in a state of cardiac arrest at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 6:29 PM on March 10. The police and Wheesung's agency, Taejo Entertainment, announced, "Today, our artist Wheesung has left us."

Authorities believe Wheesung was discovered a significant time after his passing and are investigating the exact cause of death. The police stated, "So far, there is no evidence of external intrusion or criminal activity," adding that they are investigating the presence of a will and the specific circumstances of his death.

The police were alerted by Wheesung's family, and emergency services discovered the situation upon arrival.

Wheesung was scheduled to perform a joint concert with KCM on March 15. However, with Wheesung's sudden passing, the concert has been canceled.

Previously, Wheesung was charged with propofol use and received a suspended sentence of one year in prison with two years of probation in 2021. However, the police have stated, "Propofol is not the cause of Wheesung's death."
