Koo Jun-yeop Mourns Late Wife Barbie Hsu, Faces Legal Battle Over Her Estate

Koo Jun-yeop, 56, is deeply mourning the loss of his wife, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu (also known as Xu Xiyuan, 48), as he has yet to hold a memorial service for her. Reports indicate that he is not seeking treatment for severe eye swelling and is refusing to eat.

Taiwanese media reported on the 28th that "it has been nearly a month since Barbie Hsu passed away, and Koo Jun-yeop is still shedding tears daily, unable to escape his grief."

Close sources reveal that whenever Koo Jun-yeop speaks with Barbie Hsu's younger sister, Xu Xidi, they both cannot hold back their tears. "Koo's eyes are severely swollen from continuous crying, and he is not receiving treatment for it. He is also not eating properly, leading to significant weight loss," they shared.

Meanwhile, Koo Jun-yeop has vowed to protect Barbie Hsu's family and her two children from her previous marriage to Wang Xiaofei. On his social media, Koo stated, "The inheritance was accumulated by Hsu through her hard work to protect her beloved family, and I intend to give all rights regarding it to my mother-in-law." He further added, "I will take legal measures through a lawyer to ensure that the children's rights are protected until they reach adulthood, preventing any malicious interference."

Koo also criticized Wang Xiaofei and his family, saying, "Even before the time of great loss and mourning has passed, devil-like people have begun to slander our family and my love. Some pretend to be sad, walking in the rain, while others create fake news about insurance and expenses to hurt our family."

While a legal battle over the late Hsu's estate looms, Koo Jun-yeop and the bereaved family remain engulfed in sorrow.

Barbie Hsu passed away on February 2nd from acute pneumonia caused by influenza while on a family trip to Japan for the Lunar New Year. Her remains were cremated in Japan and have been transferred to Taiwan.

Barbie Hsu married Wang Xiaofei in 2011 and had a son and a daughter with him. The couple divorced in November 2021 after ten years of marriage. She later married Koo Jun-yeop on February 8, 2022.
