ADOR Files Injunction Against NewJeans Amid Contract Dispute
ADOR, the agency embroiled in a contract dispute with the K-pop group NewJeans, has filed an injunction to prohibit the members from engaging in independent advertising contracts.

On the 13th, ADOR announced through an official statement that they have submitted an application to the Seoul Central District Court for an 'injunction to preserve agency status and prohibit advertising contracts' against NewJeans members. They stated, "The final ruling on the 'confirmation of exclusive contract validity' lawsuit filed by ADOR in December last year may take considerable time. We have applied for this injunction to urgently prevent the current confusion."

The purpose of the injunction is to affirm ADOR's status as the agency under the exclusive contract and to prevent NewJeans members from independently signing advertising contracts and engaging in activities. ADOR emphasized that the members have been attempting to independently contact advertisers and sign contracts, which could lead to confusion and damage for third parties, including advertisers.

ADOR further stated, "This injunction reflects ADOR's intention to continue working with NewJeans. We have consistently supported NewJeans' entertainment activities with all necessary personnel and facilities and plan to continue doing so."

Previously, in November last year, NewJeans held an emergency press conference in Gangnam, Seoul, declaring their intention to terminate their exclusive contract with ADOR. Despite this declaration, the five-member group has fulfilled most of their scheduled activities with ADOR and has shown independent moves in advertising contracts, raising concerns in the industry.

Meanwhile, Hanni, a member with Vietnamese-Australian nationality, is facing the expiration of her E-6 (entertainment) visa. As she claims the contract with ADOR has ended, there remains the issue of visa surrender. It is known that obtaining a visa through a new agency could take at least three months, leading to predictions that full group activities may be impossible for the time being.

In their official statement, ADOR reiterated their stance that the exclusive contract with NewJeans is valid and that they have been providing unwavering support for the group's activities. They also expressed their desire to communicate sufficiently with NewJeans members, having already planned various projects, including a regular album release and fan meetings for the year.
