SM Entertainment and MBC Forge Partnership to Advance Virtual Media and Content Industry
SM Entertainment (SM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MBC to advance the virtual industry in the media and content sectors.

On the afternoon of the 11th, at the MBC headquarters in Sangam-dong, SM held a signing ceremony for the MOU with MBC to promote the development of the virtual industry in media and content. The ceremony was attended by SM's Co-CEO Tak Young-jun, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) Park Joon-young, MBC's CEO Ahn Hyung-joon, MBC's Head of Entertainment Jeon Jin-soo, and MBC's Virtual Content Business Task Force Leader Noh Si-yong.

Under this agreement, SM and MBC plan to collaborate on the development of the virtual industry in media and content and produce content utilizing SM's first virtual artist, naevis. They aim to achieve mutual goals and sustainable outcomes, with plans for various collaborations, including naevis's appearance on 'Show! Music Core.'

Tak Young-jun, Co-CEO of SM, stated, "At SM, we are striving to create unique value for naevis, and thanks to these efforts, we have taken this meaningful first step with MBC to shape the future together. I hope this agreement will lead to great synergy between the two companies in various content and business areas."

Ahn Hyung-joon, CEO of MBC, expressed, "Through the collaboration between the two companies, we aim to produce content utilizing naevis's IP, foster a healthy virtual ecosystem, and grow together in areas where both companies can excel, expanding into the global market."

Meanwhile, naevis, who debuted last September with the single 'Done,' is a flexible character that adapts to various platforms with hyper-real VFX technology, toon style, and casual 3D forms. The character's voice is implemented using AI voice technology, and content is created using generative AI, aiming to expand the IP universe beyond music to include webtoons, games, merchandise, and brand collaborations.
