Chef Ahn Sung-jae and Professor Seo Kyung-duk Collaborate to Globalize Traditional Korean Fermentation
Chef Ahn Sung-jae joins forces with Professor Seo Kyung-duk to promote the globalization of traditional Korean fermentation.
In celebration of the inclusion of 'Korean Fermentation Culture' in UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women's University released a video titled 'Tradition Connects' on the 5th.
This six-minute video, co-produced with Daesang Corporation, is being widely shared both domestically and internationally through YouTube and social media platforms. Notably, the video features Chef Ahn Sung-jae, who gained attention as a judge on 'Black and White Chef.' He not only appears in the video but also provides the narration. Chef Ahn has a deep interest in traditional Korean fermentation and aims to highlight its limitless potential and value.
The video primarily focuses on the lives and stories of four master artisans of gochujang (Korean red chili paste) from Sunchang County, presented in an interview format.
Professor Seo stated, "There is a growing interest in Korean cuisine worldwide," adding, "This is the perfect time to introduce the fundamental ingredient of Korean cuisine, fermentation, to the world." He also mentioned plans to continue a 'global campaign' using various content to further promote 'Korean Fermentation Culture' internationally.
