(G)I-DLE's Jeon Soyeon Announces Group's Contract Renewal with Cube Entertainment
On December 1st, Jeon Soyeon took to her personal Instagram account to share the news, expressing gratitude to their fans, known as Neverland, and everyone who loves (G)I-DLE's music. She posted several photos, including ones taken backstage at the '2024 Melon Music Awards' as she prepared for their performance.
In the photos, Jeon Soyeon is seen striking various poses, and the group is captured in a commemorative photo, drawing attention. She shared, "Over the past seven years, we've experienced joy, sadness, frustration, and hope together, and the five of us have grown stronger." She added, "It took us a while to say this because we all come from very different backgrounds and met as adults. Were you worried?"
She continued, "We all agreed on staying together as five. I'm so happy and proud to continue as the leader of (G)I-DLE for a long time." She expressed her love and gratitude to her fellow members Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua, and added, "Let's stay together forever with Neverland and (G)I-DLE."
Previously, on November 30th, (G)I-DLE won the 'Record of the Year' award at the '2024 Melon Music Awards.' During her acceptance speech, Jeon Soyeon revealed the contract renewal, addressing rumors about the group's disbandment. She stated, "There were many articles saying that we were disbanding because my contract had ended."
Jeon Soyeon clarified, "All five of us, not just me, have decided to renew our contracts. We talked about it before going on stage today. It's true that all five members are renewing. We plan to stay together next year, the year after, and forever, so fans shouldn't worry. We'll repay you with great music next year and work even harder."
(G)I-DLE, who debuted in 2018, was approaching the end of their contracts this year. Jeon Soyeon's contract with Cube Entertainment had already expired before the other members.
