Singer Song Ga-in recently shared her unexpected connection with the popular K-pop group NewJeans.

On the October 27th episode of MBC's variety show 'Radio Star,' Song Ga-in appeared as a guest and shared various stories.

During the show, when asked about her recent connections with famous idols, Song Ga-in revealed, "I have a connection with NewJeans." She explained, "During a hanbok photoshoot, they wore a hairpin I made in the past," surprising everyone. She further explained, "I once gifted the hairpin to a hanbok teacher, and when NewJeans received a hanbok sponsorship, my hairpin was included."

Before her appearance on 'Miss Trot,' Song Ga-in had mentioned that she used to make and sell hairpins as a side job. Reflecting on her connection with NewJeans, she expressed, "I was so surprised and honored. They wore it so beautifully." She added, "After seeing NewJeans wear the hairpin, I received inquiries from drama productions wanting to use it as a prop. When they asked about the cost, I offered it for free."

Additionally, Song Ga-in shared that she cherishes the nickname 'National Singer.' She stated, "I get invited to many events, both locally and nationally. It seems like I've been invited every time there's a change in government, so I like the title 'National Singer.'" She also mentioned that despite being from Jeolla Province, she performs in various regions, including Gyeongsang Province, and added, "Fans often say that I've achieved what politics couldn't."

When asked by the panelists about any regrets despite achieving political unity through her music, Song Ga-in humorously confessed, "After I appeared on TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot,' 'Mr. Trot' came out, and fans shifted their attention to the male contestants, dividing the popularity."

She jokingly added, "I even imagined that if I were born a man, I might have become like the legendary singer Na Hoon-a."
