BTS's Jimin and Jungkook, LE SSERAFIM Nominated for 2024 Billboard Music Awards
BTS members Jimin and Jungkook, along with the group LE SSERAFIM, have been nominated for the 2024 Billboard Music Awards.
According to the list of finalists announced on the 25th (local time), Jimin and Jungkook are both contenders in the 'Top Global K-Pop Artist' and 'Top Global K-Pop Song' categories. This marks their continued recognition at the BBMAs for their solo activities, following last year's nominations.
Jimin's solo album 'MUSE' features the title track 'Who,' which has been nominated for 'Top Global K-Pop Song.' Upon its release, 'Who' debuted at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Jimin's sixth solo entry on the chart. The song has maintained its popularity, remaining on the Hot 100 for 17 consecutive weeks.
Jungkook aims for a second consecutive win in the same category with his solo single '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' and the title track 'Standing Next to You' from his solo album 'GOLDEN.' Additionally, 'Standing Next to You' is nominated for 'Top Selling Song.' Both '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' and 'Standing Next to You' debuted at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100.
'GOLDEN,' featuring 'Standing Next to You,' is also a contender for 'Top K-Pop Album.' The album has set a record for the longest-charting Korean solo artist album on the Billboard 200, remaining on the chart for 24 consecutive weeks.
Thanks to this popularity, Jungkook has become the first K-pop solo artist to be nominated in the 'Top Song Sales Artist' category. He is a finalist in six categories, making him the most-nominated K-pop artist at this year's BBMAs. LE SSERAFIM (members Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae) has also been nominated for 'Top Global K-Pop Song' with their first English digital single 'Perfect Night.'
The BBMAs select nominees based on data from the past 12 months, including album and song sales, radio airplay, streaming, touring, and social engagement, as well as Billboard chart performance.
