BLACKPINK's Rosé Responds to Unexpected Question About NewJeans and ADOR Conflict
In the interview, Rosé discussed her collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars on the track 'APT.' and her upcoming debut studio album 'rosie,' set to release next month.
During the conversation, the interviewer brought up the ongoing situation involving NewJeans and their agency ADOR. They asked Rosé for her thoughts on the alleged unfair treatment of former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin by HYBE. Rosé responded by saying, "I want to focus on positive stories," and added, "I really love those girls," drawing attention with her diplomatic answer.
Some members of the public criticized the interviewer's question as inappropriate, noting that it was unrelated to the main topics of Rosé's interview. However, many praised Rosé for her wise and composed response to the sudden inquiry.
Previously, in September, NewJeans took to a surprise YouTube live broadcast to address the conflict between Min Hee-jin and HYBE. They expressed their distress over alleged internal bullying and mental anguish, urging HYBE to reinstate Min Hee-jin as CEO.
On October 15, NewJeans member Hani appeared as a witness at a national audit, voicing her concerns. She criticized the current leadership, stating, "I don't think (CEO Kim Joo-young) has done his best. He lacks the will to fight for us or take any action, so I can't say he's done his best," and urged for a swift resolution to the issue.
Subsequently, on October 13, NewJeans directly mentioned the possibility of terminating their exclusive contract. They sent a formal notice to ADOR, stating their intention to terminate the contract if their demands were not met. In response, ADOR expressed their commitment to resolving the matter wisely to continue working with the artists.
