The Boyz's Sunwoo Assaulted by Sasaeng Fan: Agency Vows Legal Action
The Boyz member Sunwoo was assaulted by a sasaeng fan, prompting his agency to announce a firm response.
IST Entertainment released a statement on their official fan cafe on the 14th, stating, "There have been continuous incidents of privacy invasion and threats to our artist's safety."
According to the statement, on the 9th, Sunwoo was returning to his residence after completing his schedule when a sasaeng fan, hiding in the emergency stairwell, approached him as he was entering the elevator.
Feeling threatened, Sunwoo immediately informed a staff member, who, along with Sunwoo, managed to detain the intruder and hand them over to the police. During this process, both Sunwoo and the staff member were assaulted. The agency explained, "While trying to detain the fleeing sasaeng, Sunwoo and the staff were repeatedly beaten. The individual was arrested on charges of trespassing and assault, and is currently under police investigation."
Sunwoo and the staff received medical examinations and treatment at a nearby hospital. The agency assured fans, "We are prioritizing the artist's health and stability, continuously monitoring his condition and taking necessary measures."
Additionally, the agency revealed that a tracking device was found attached to a vehicle parked in front of their building, and the car's tires were deliberately damaged, leading to a police report. They stated, "These actions are clear illegal acts causing mental and material harm to our artists and staff. We are responding with a zero-tolerance policy towards privacy invasions and illegal activities, and will take definitive legal action."
The agency further emphasized, "As the actions infringing on the artist's rights have become excessive, we are continuously collecting evidence and reviewing materials through legal representatives, with no leniency or settlements to be expected."
