[Exclusive] Hwasa and Producer Park Woo-sang: A Decade of Friendship and Musical Collaboration
"This project required no effort from me. My longtime friend and soulmate, producer Park Woo-sang, had everything prepared, allowing me to focus solely on my emotions. We have such a unique and extraordinary connection that we can feel each other's vibes without words. I'm truly grateful to Woo-sang oppa for pushing the project forward," said singer Hwasa, reflecting on her collaboration with producer Park Woo-sang, a cherished friendship spanning a decade.
In an interview with TenAsia on the 16th, Hwasa described working with Park Woo-sang as "always special and enjoyable," adding, "The best I could offer him in this project was my 'emotion.'"
Hwasa shared behind-the-scenes details from the music video shoot, expressing concerns about her expressions during filming. "I was immersed in the emotion throughout the shoot, even during breaks. Woo-sang might have thought, 'Is Hye-jin having a hard time?' So, I explained everything right after the shoot, and we laughed it off as usual," she recalled. Producer Park Woo-sang admitted he thought, 'She must be physically exhausted.' "The set wasn't 100% ready that day. We started filming in a rushed and challenging environment," he confessed. "I was concerned that Hye-jin's dark expressions might make the day feel tedious." Park Woo-sang discovered the brilliance of Hwasa's emotional acting during editing, describing it as "shocking." "We filmed at 1.6x speed for slow motion. I thought her expressions were dark, but in slow motion, it was perfect acting. Hye-jin was intensely focused, matching her expressions to the 1.6x speed," he explained.
Reflecting on their decade-long friendship, Park Woo-sang shared, "With Hye-jin, it's a comfortable relationship, but there's an indescribable bond beyond gratitude. I recently told Hwasa, 'You are my pride, supporter, and friend. Thank you.'"
Meanwhile, Hwasa released the project track 'Star (prod. LOGOS)' on the 14th, a collaboration with Park Woo-sang. Hwasa is the first artist in Park Woo-sang's 'LOGOS Project,' a partnership that dates back to her debut. 'Star' captures the hollow emotions and deep loneliness felt by modern individuals.
