Actor Kim Dong-wook Claims to Be the Funniest on Set of Disney+ Series 'Gangmaegang'
Actor Kim Dong-wook confidently claimed to be the funniest person on set.

On the 15th, Kim Dong-wook shared various stories during an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, regarding Disney+'s original series 'Gangmaegang'.

'Gangmaegang' is a comic crime investigation drama that tells the story of the worst-ranked violent crime unit teaming up with the top elite detective to form the ultimate team.

Kim Dong-wook plays the role of Dongbang Yubin, a super-elite rookie detective, showcasing his acting prowess. His return to comedy after five years has drawn attention.

On this day, Kim Dong-wook expressed, "The comedy genre always excites me even before starting the work. Isn't it delightful to work to make people laugh? Analyzing in detail is arduous and challenging, but the purpose of providing laughter and fun is enjoyable and attractive. I don't know how effective the 45 minutes (the duration of one episode) of contemplation will be, but I felt great joy," adding, "I have always liked comedy and watch it a lot. I want to do it anytime."

Known for his usually quiet image, Kim Dong-wook joked, "I don't try to be too funny because people might find it creepy," eliciting laughter. He further claimed to be the funniest on set. Kim Dong-wook said, "(Park) Ji-hwan is an emotional person. (Seo) Hyun-woo also has a comedic instinct. Park Se-wan and Lee Seung-woo, being with seniors, might have had moments where they couldn't fully express their comedy to consider us," adding, "Then it must be me. There are people addicted to my humor. I may not have the knack for telling episodes amusingly, but there are occasional humors when talking in private. When I meet someone who matches my code, the success rate is high."

'Gangmaegang' has aired up to episode 12, with episodes 13-14 set to be released on the 16th. The series consists of 20 episodes.
