Kim Hee-ae Reflects on Her Third Collaboration with Seol Kyung-gu in 'Ordinary Family'

Actress Kim Hee-ae shared her thoughts on working with Seol Kyung-gu for the third time.

On the 7th, Kim Hee-ae conducted an interview at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, discussing various topics related to the film 'Ordinary Family'.

'Ordinary Family' is a suspense film that portrays the collapse of four individuals' lives after witnessing a crime scene involving children on CCTV. It is based on Herman Koch's novel 'The Dinner'.

In the film, Kim Hee-ae plays the role of Yeon-kyung, the wife of Jae-kyu (played by Jang Dong-gun). Yeon-kyung is a freelance translator who balances her career while fulfilling her roles as a wife and mother.

Kim Hee-ae and Seol Kyung-gu have previously worked together in the film 'The Moon' and the Netflix series 'Whirlwind', making 'Ordinary Family' their third collaboration. Seol Kyung-gu plays Jae-wan, Jae-kyu's rational and logical lawyer brother.

On this day, Kim Hee-ae remarked, "Will there be another chance to meet (Seol Kyung-gu) again? Meeting three times is not easy. There are actors you never meet in a lifetime. It's a precious connection. Three times might be enough, but if we meet again, it would be fun. 'Whirlwind' and 'Ordinary Family' have completely different images. The characters are so different that 'Whirlwind' is almost unrecognizable. Each project brings out different charms, so it would be interesting."

Regarding her on-screen husband, Jang Dong-gun, she said, "I was worried about how it would be, but he acted so diligently, which was great." Kim Hee-ae added, "What I feel while acting is that I should treat my co-actors well. Their good performance reflects back on me. Previously, I wanted to impress viewers or audiences with my acting. Later, I wanted to move the staff. Nowadays, I want to impress the actor right in front of me. It's a virtuous cycle. When the other actor delivers a good performance, it affects me. It helps me focus."

'Ordinary Family' is set to be released on October 16.
