BTS Member Suga Fined 15 Million Won for Electric Scooter DUI
BTS member Suga (31, real name Min Yoon-gi) has been summarily indicted and fined 15 million won for driving an electric scooter under the influence.

According to legal sources on the 12th, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office's Criminal Division 2 (Chief Prosecutor Choo Hye-yoon) summarily indicted Suga on the 10th for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated. Suga is expected to settle the case by paying the fine without a formal trial.

A summary indictment is a procedure where the prosecution requests the court to issue a summary order for fines, penalties, or confiscation without a formal trial when the charges are relatively minor.

Meanwhile, Suga was caught by police on the night of the 6th of last month at around 11:15 PM while riding an electric scooter under the influence in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. The police booked him for DUI the following day.

Suga's blood alcohol concentration at the time was found to be 0.227%, significantly exceeding the license revocation standard of 0.08%, indicating a state of heavy intoxication. Under current law, a blood alcohol concentration of 0.2% or higher can result in imprisonment for 2 to 5 years or a fine ranging from 10 million to 20 million won.

In March, Suga entered the Nonsan Training Center in Chungnam to receive basic military training. He is currently serving as a social service agent and is scheduled to be discharged in June next year.
