SEVENTEEN's Historic Performance at Lollapalooza Berlin Receives International Acclaim
The group SEVENTEEN (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, The8, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) has received rave reviews from international media for their performance at 'Lollapalooza Berlin'.
The renowned British magazine NME mentioned in an article published on the 9th (local time) that SEVENTEEN was the first K-pop artist to headline the main stage at 'Lollapalooza Berlin', calling it a "historic performance." NME reported, "As they finished their unit stages, the audience began chanting the group's name. The members responded with the chant 'Berlin'," capturing the electrifying atmosphere of the event.
Music specialist media Rolling Stone UK evaluated, "SEVENTEEN has always excelled in live performances, showcasing immense talent." The media also highlighted SEVENTEEN's unique unit system, consisting of a hip-hop team, performance team, and vocal team, stating, "This allows them to seamlessly transition between sweet, dreamy ballads and explosive rap."
German public broadcaster RBB also paid attention to SEVENTEEN's performance. RBB praised, "SEVENTEEN left a strong impression with their perfect choreography." They added, "This year's 'Lollapalooza Berlin' saw more international attendees from countries like Poland, Germany, and the UK than in previous years. The main reason was SEVENTEEN," noting that some die-hard fans even camped near the venue the night before to secure good spots.
Local leading daily Berliner Morgenpost described, "When SEVENTEEN said 'I love you' in German, the fans' cheers grew louder. The audience filmed the members with one hand while waving light sticks with the other," illustrating the enthusiastic crowd reaction. Another media outlet, MOZ, conveyed local fans' interviews, stating, "SEVENTEEN is a team that gives off very genuine and positive energy," and "Their music provides an escape from daily life and offers relaxation."
On the 8th, SEVENTEEN performed for about 90 minutes on the main stage south at 'Lollapalooza Berlin', presenting 19 songs and creating unforgettable memories with their European fans. The audience sang along in Korean and waved various cheering tools, adding to the excitement. The members expressed their heartfelt emotions, saying, "We are happy because you are happy," and "We will not forget you."
After heating up 'Lollapalooza Berlin', SEVENTEEN will meet global fans with their 12th mini-album and world tour 'SEVENTEEN [RIGHT HERE] WORLD TOUR' in October. They are also set to sing the theme song for the Japanese NHK drama '未来の私にブッかまされる!?' (Mirai no Watashi ni Bukkamasareru!?) which premieres on October 7.
