Mariah Carey Mourns the Loss of Her Mother and Sister on the Same Day

American pop star Mariah Carey announced on the 26th (local time) that she is in shock and grief after the passing of her mother and sister on the same day.

Mariah Carey expressed her sorrow through an interview with 'People' magazine, stating, "I spent a sad and heartbreaking day this weekend as I witnessed my mother's passing. Coincidentally, my sister Alison also passed away on the same day."

Mariah Carey's mother, Patricia, who was an opera singer, divorced Mariah's father, Alfred Roy Carey, when Mariah was three years old. Mariah has detailed the conflicts she experienced with her mother and sister in her memoir. However, she also engaged with the public by releasing a Christmas album in 2010, which featured a duet with her mother.

The causes of death for Mariah Carey's mother and sister have not been disclosed.
