Actress Jang Shin-young Decides to Keep Family Together Amid Husband's Infidelity Allegations
On the 19th, Jang Shin-young posted a lengthy message on her Instagram account.
Jang expressed, "First and foremost, I apologize to everyone who has cherished and loved our family for the disappointment we have caused. More importantly, I extend my apologies to those who have been directly affected by this incident." She continued, "We have received overwhelming support and encouragement, and I feel deeply sorry for letting down those warm and generous hearts. I spent days in a dark tunnel, unaware of how time was passing."
Jang Shin-young shared, "One day, I closed my eyes and found peace and tranquility after a long time. I wished time would stop forever. But then, my child called out to me, 'Mom,' and I snapped back to reality. I realized I couldn't give up. I have to protect my children and my precious life. The ones who suffered the most might have been the children. As a parent, I feel endlessly sorry for causing them pain and making them experience things they shouldn't have."
Jang revealed, "I had many conversations with my husband. We blamed ourselves and reflected countless times. Despite the indescribable pain, we decided to live together again for the sake of our children." She added, "I ask for restraint in excessive criticism towards my husband. I worry that our children might come across it. Please understand. Many people have sent me comfort and support during this time. Each warm word helped me stand up again. I sincerely thank everyone who reached out. I hope to greet you with good news next time."
Kang Kyung-joon was sued for damages on December 26 last year, accused of being the other man in an affair. The plaintiff claimed that Kang engaged in an affair knowing the woman was married and demanded 50 million won in damages.
In late January this year, it was reported that Kang had appointed a lawyer and submitted a power of attorney to the court. The court decided to handle the case through mediation, but when the plaintiff submitted a non-attendance statement and expressed no intention to settle, the case was transferred to the Seoul Family Court. In July, Kang issued a statement saying, "I have decided not to contest the claims or address the inaccuracies through legal procedures and will comply with the plaintiff's demands," effectively admitting to the affair.
