‘2nd Anniversary of Debut’ New Jeans Minji “New Jeans is special because it’s New Jeans”
In a press release on the 22nd, New Jeans shared their thoughts on celebrating their 2nd anniversary of debut and talked about the past 2 years and future activities.
Q. It’s been 2 years since your debut. You recently completed your Japanese activities successfully. How do you feel?
(Minji) I think the two years really passed by in an instant. When you think you've just gotten used to the stage, there's always a new stage waiting for you. There will continue to be challenges in the future, but I believe we can do it if we work together with our members.
(Hani) As I have done many things over the past two years, I think my heart for what I am doing has deepened, and I have come to love and enjoy it. It was really fun preparing for my recent Japanese debut. It was a lot of fun because it was an opportunity to debut in a different country and show off new stages.
(Daniel) It was a dream-like two years. Thank you so much to our Bunnies (fandom name) for creating these precious memories. There were difficult and difficult moments along the way, but because Bernice was with me, I was able to grow and learn more by exchanging a lot of love and energy. It seems like each day passes quickly these days. I will try to make every moment more precious.
(Haerin) Many memories from the past two years are passing by. I am grateful to be able to spend time with precious people, and I am happy to have precious Bernese by my side.
(Hyein) I thought, ‘It hasn’t been long since we debuted.’ I feel like this is a time when there are still a lot of things I want to try and can do. We want to continue to show a variety of sides to those who love and care for us.
Q. What has changed the most compared to when you debuted?
(Minji) I think I’ve become able to think more maturely. Although I am still lacking, I decided to take my time and focus on growing.
(Hani) I think I gained an understanding of how to do better through various experiences. As I spent more time with the members, our understanding of each other deepened. We were originally close, but we became closer and I think we started having fun working together.
(Daniel) I don’t think there has been much change on the inside. Of course, I am growing in many ways through experience and practice. I think my understanding of the members has also grown. And I got closer to Bernese and my love grew even more. Now, I feel like I can relate just by looking at the Bernese.
(Haerin) New accommodation. I am truly grateful to be able to stay in a warm and comfortable space. Other than the change in living space, I don't feel much of a difference. As always, I think I'm doing well with the members.
(Hyein) There are still many moments that don't feel real, but I think I'm discovering different sides of myself as I adapt to every environment and become closer and closer to the people around me.
Q. What is the most memorable moment from your New Genes activities over the past two years?
(Minji) There are many moments, but what I remember the most right now is the Tokyo Dome fan meeting. It was a dream-like moment spending time with the music-loving Bunnies.
(Hani) There are so many, but I remember the recent Tokyo Dome fan meeting a lot. I have many memories of being on stage, but I think I remember more the personal practice and preparation process.
(Daniel) There are so many that it’s hard to choose. Among them, the first thing that comes to mind is the recent Tokyo Dome fan meeting. It was a truly happy, dream-like time. I was very nervous because it was my first overseas fan meeting, but the moment I saw the Bunnies on stage, all my fears disappeared and I felt like I had become one with the Bunnies. I think I had a lot of fun with the colorful binky sticks, the sound of the Bunnies cheering, and the Bunnies' love washing over me like a wave. All the tension disappeared and I had a lot of fun. Bernice, thank you.
(Haerin) There are so many memorable moments, but I have to choose the recent Tokyo Dome performance. I was impressed by the numerous binky sticks and sparkling eyes.
(Hyein) I can never forget New Jeans’ first debut stage. And the recent Tokyo Dome performance was very memorable.
Q. What do you think is special about New Genes?
(Minji) I think New Jeans is special because it’s New Jeans. Although I take on a variety of challenges, I also seem to have a great determination to enjoy the moment.
(Hani) I work hard to show you good songs, and I want to show you good stages and content. I think people who like our music will find us.
(Daniel) Rather than being special or different, we truly love music and want to share that love with the Bernese.
(Haerin) I think we want to focus on our work and do our best. I think our enjoyment of the stage was conveyed well.
(Hyein) Rather than being confined to one concept and style, I always try to try new things in various ways.
Q. Looking back on the first half of this year, is there anything you would like to say to the members and Bunnies?
(Minji) I am proud and proud of the members and I for handling our busy schedule well. There will be many stages and events waiting for me in the second half of the year, but I hope I can enjoy it and do it. love! Let's be healthy!
(Hani) You did well with your busy schedule, and I hope you finish this year well~ without getting hurt! Don't put too much pressure on yourself~!
(Daniel) We did it! Our members, who always do their best, have worked really hard! And Bunnies, let’s not get hurt and have fun in the second half of the year too! I love you~~~❤ (heart emoticon)
(Haerin) Our goal is to continue to show better performances. Thank you to all the Bernese who support New Jeans, and I am also grateful to the members who join us. I received so much help that I want to help even more. I think it's a really happy thing to be able to look forward to more in the future. Let's do well in the future :D (big smile emoticon)
(Hyein) This time, there were times when I wasn’t able to be with the members due to my injury. So my future goal is to stay healthy, not get hurt, and build a lot of meaningful and happy memories.
