Actor Bong Tae-gyu opened up about the difficulties he faced in the past when he wanted to quit being a celebrity.

In the video that day, Bong Tae-gyu appeared as a guest and had a conversation with broadcaster Lee Gyeong-gyu. Lee Gyeong-gyu said to Bong Tae-gyu, “He published a lot of books,” and mentioned a book written by Bong Tae-gyu. He said, “I bought three books written by Bong Tae-gyu and am reading them now.”

Regarding the reason why he turned into a writer, Bong Tae-gyu said, "I originally didn't want to become a celebrity." He explained, “Bad things happened all at once,” and “I got really sick, and then my father died in an accident.”

Bong Tae-gyu confessed, "(My father) fell off a mountain and died, and there were negative comments about my father's death." He added, "I couldn't do it because my work wasn't going well and I was sick. I didn't have the courage to do it."

Bong Tae-gyu, who said, “As I was reading, I thought I should continue writing,” said, “I thought I couldn’t just write, and if I wanted to continue writing, I needed to get paid at least a little bit to feel responsible.” He then explained the reason for publishing the book, saying, "So I said I would write and draw a performance essay for a performance magazine I knew for a very small fee. That's how I got started."

Bong Tae-gyu shared his current status, saying, “I started writing the book with the vague thoughts of ‘I need to live’ and ‘I need to write consistently.’ I am still writing.”
