Kang So-ra, host of the opening ceremony of this year's Chuncheon Film Festival
The opening ceremony host and opening film of the 2024 Chuncheon Film Festival (Chairman Park Ki-bok) have been confirmed. The host who will open and close the opening ceremony to be held at the Gongjicheon Youth Blue Shelter in Chuncheon at 7 p.m. on June 20th will be actress Kang So-ra. Following Okjayeon last year, the opening ceremony of this year's Chuncheon Film Festival will be hosted by 'One Top'.
Kang So-ra, who debuted in 2009, came into the limelight by winning the Baeksang Arts Awards and Buil Film Awards for Best New Actress for her role as Ha Chun-hwa in 'Sunny' (2011), and later appeared in films such as 'Paparotti' (2013) and 'No Harm' (2020). She received a lot of love through dramas, and ‘Ahn Young-i’ from ‘Misaeng’ (2014) is a representative character. 'Doctor Stranger' (2014), 'Mendorong Ttotto' (2015), and 'Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho' (2016) were also well received, and his most recent work is 'Can I Become a Stranger' in 2023. Kang So-ra, who has shown impressive character acting across a variety of genres including romance, comedy, and legal drama, said as host of this year's Chuncheon Film Festival, "I am so happy to be a part of the 11th Chuncheon Film Festival. “It is an honor to announce the start of a fun festival with movie lovers in beautiful Chuncheon,” he said.
The opening film of the 2024 Chuncheon Film Festival is ‘Light and Body’ by director Jang Kwon-ho. The new work 'Light and Body' by director Jang Kwon-ho, director of 'Tan' (2018) and 'Yoseon' (2021), which were screened in the 'Cinematic Chuncheon' section last year, is a work supported by Chuncheon City and the Chuncheon City Film Industry Support Center. Director Jang Kwon-ho has worked with Mimeist Yoo Jin-gyu, a representative artist of Chuncheon, since 'Tan', and 'Light and Body' is the third work to be screened at this year's Jeonju International Film Festival. It is a work that captures the ‘history of the unconscious’ with the theme of ‘karma’.
