'Crime City 4' succeeded in attracting audiences, but its rating was the 'lowest' in the series

While the movie 'Crime City 4' has already set a record of exceeding the break-even point in its opening week, its somewhat low rating is attracting attention.

Ma Dong-seok’s fist worked again this year. According to the comprehensive computer network for movie theater admission tickets, 'Crime City 4' ranked first at the box office on the 28th, attracting 1,048,337 people. The cumulative number of viewers is 4,253,551.

The break-even point for 'Crime City 4' is known to be about 3.5 million people. It succeeded in attracting audiences far exceeding the break-even point in its opening week. Previously, Ma Dong-seok said, “Actually, our honest goal for our film is to exceed the break-even point. The break-even point for the fourth film is 3.5 million.”

It is receiving a lot of attention, attracting 820,000 viewers on the first day of release and setting the record for the highest opening score of the year. It is expected to become the second 10 million movie in 2024, following the first movie 'Pamyo'.

However, the rating recorded 7.65 as of the 29th, the lowest score in the entire series. In fact, many of the reviews are disappointing, such as "disappointing," "I don't think I'll ever be able to beat the first episode," "the chemistry of the police team is disappointing," and "I think it's impossible to get to season 8 at this rate." Of course, the work cannot receive only favorable reviews, and it has only just passed its opening week. As it is gathering audiences at a rapid pace, attention is being paid to whether it can overturn the low ratings.

'Crime City 4' is about the monster detective Ma Seok-do (played by Ma Dong-seok) and the return of Jang Yi-soo (played by Lee Dong-hwi) against villain Baek Chang-gi (played by Kim Moo-yeol), a former special forces mercenary who runs a large-scale online illegal gambling organization, and IT industry genius CEO Jang Dong-cheol (played by Lee Dong-hwi). (played by Park Ji-hwan), is a movie depicting a crime eradication operation carried out together with the Kwangsoo Unit and the Cyber Team.
