Lee Sang-yoon returns to the theater stage after 7 months

The play 'Closer' is set in modern London and follows four men and women, Alice, Dan, Anna, and Larry, as they meet and become entangled in each other's lives. As it is being staged again after 8 years, expectations are rising as it will be reborn through translation and adaptation work that is one step closer to the original work, and will delicately explore what a true relationship is in the process of the beginning and end of love.

Lee Sang-yoon plans to meet the audience as Larry, a doctor at a public medical institution who pursues principles and stability, but also dreams of deviance. In an interview released before the opening, when asked about his similarities to the character, he said, “I want to be human. “I’m trying to portray him as a human being that we can truly empathize with, rather than as a dramatic character in a play,” he said.

Lee Sang-yoon participated in the play 'The Last Session' as 'CS Lewis' for three consecutive seasons starting from its premiere in 2020, perfectly expressing the character in his own unique way, and was even praised as 'Lewis himself'. He expressed his gratitude for being able to feel and learn many things while going on stage, and also revealed that he was curious and looking forward to what kind of work he would do next. Attention is focused on what kind of new appearance and charm he will fill the stage with in this work, which returns to the stage after about 7 months.

The play ‘Closer’ will be performed at Plus Theater until July 14th.
