The Korean original musical 'Hero' will begin its 10th season in May, celebrating its 15th anniversary since its premiere in 2009.

The musical 'Hero', produced to commemorate the 100th anniversary of An Jung-geun's assassination, became the second Korean original musical to exceed 1 million cumulative audiences since its premiere on October 26, 2009. The work depicts the last year of Ahn Jung-geun. It was recreated based on historical records, including Ahn Jung-geun's patriotic sense of mission as well as the passionate passion of independence fighters.

'Hero' premiered in 2009 and was nominated in 12 categories each at 'The Musical Awards' and 'Korea Musical Awards', winning 6 awards and 5 awards at the Yegreen Musical Awards, paving the way for Korean creative musicals. In 2011, it went on to Broadway and performed at Lincoln Center, and in 2015, it performed in Harbin, China, where the Korean War was committed, spreading the message of peace in Asia to people around the world.

A movie of the same name based on this musical was also released last year. Numbers that have been loved for a long time have been reexamined. As a result, it became the second Korean original musical last season to exceed 1 million cumulative audiences.
