Below is Yui’s Q&A

Q.
How do you feel about the end of ‘Hyoshim’s Life, Each Life’?

A. 'Hyosim, Each Life' is a work that we worked on for a long time, about 10 months. First of all, thank you to the director, writer, staff, and actors who worked hard together without getting tired during that long period and finished it without difficulty. I would like to say thank you.

I think we were able to finish the long journey well because everyone was of one mind. As I live with 'filial piety', I laugh and cry a lot, so when I think about the end of the work, I feel more sad than relieved. I have a lot of affection for him, so I have to let him go, but I don't think it will be easy. We sincerely thank all the viewers who have watched and loved the drama.

Q. You received a lot of love for your bright and courageous character in ‘Hyoshim’s Life’. Is there anything you focused on to express the character Lee Hyo-sim?

A. When I met the character ‘Lee Hyosim’, I thought a lot about how to show Hyosim. I thought I needed to show more carefully the emotions that the character Hyosim has. The thing I talked about the most with the writer from the beginning was, “Hyoshim is an honest person.”

He told me that he wanted me to be a confident and courageous friend who said what he had to say, rather than a character who unconditionally persevered even in difficult situations, so I tried to express a greater depth of emotion that was different from the characters I had played before. I seem to have poured out my energy by screaming louder and crying louder and controlling the intensity of my emotions.

Q. What are three keywords that can describe Lee Hyo-sim’s character?

A. In my opinion, the keywords that can describe filial piety are health, filial piety, and consideration. Healthy health was chosen by the character 'Lee Hyo-shim' because she has a job as a fitness trainer, but it goes beyond just an external image and because she has a 'healthy body' and a 'healthy mind', no matter what happens to Hyo-shim, she does not break down and continues to work. I think it was the driving force that got me through this.

Even if you feel unfair and tired and want to give up, the next day, just by going for a run, you can regain your composure and have the strength to live steadfastly. I think it's probably because of your health. The keyword ‘filial daughter’, as the name suggests, is full of filial piety, and it seems that the love for her family was the foundation that made all of this possible.

Lastly, the keyword ‘consideration’ is because Hyosim is a character who thinks and cares more about others than herself. Among the lines Taeho often tells Hyosim is, “Think of yourself first. There were many people asking, “Why are you being considerate of others?” This is because being considerate of your family has been ingrained in you since you were a child.

Q. What is the most memorable scene or viewer reaction in Hyoshim’s Life’?

A. I think the most memorable scene was the scene where Hyosim was proposed to. Since I met Tae-ho, all the memories I have had together flashed by like a flash of light, and during the proposal scene, tears were pouring down my face.

I think I became more empathetic without realizing it because I felt like the future would be full of happy things for Hyosim, who had gone through a hard time. In the past, many people called me by the name ‘Doran’ when I passed by, but these days, they call me ‘Hyoshim’ a lot, so I am grateful that it seems like they love the drama a lot.

Q. How was your chemistry with the actors you co-starred with in ‘Hyoshim’s Life’?

A. My family was a great help in helping Hyosim stay focused. Throughout filming, they expressed their characters so well that I thought we resembled each other, and thanks to that, I was able to immerse myself more and do a good job.

I met actor Ha Jun for the first time in this work, and I was so grateful that he made me feel comfortable as if we had known each other for a long time from the first reading to the last. I felt proud that they supported our couple so much in the drama. I think I was able to act so that the character of Hyo-shim received more love because I was able to feel and learn many things while acting with great seniors, colleagues, and junior actors.

Q. Hyosim eventually falls in love with Taeho and achieves the happy ending everyone hoped for. How did you arrive at a happy ending?

A. It was an overwhelming feeling because it was the ending I was personally looking forward to, where Hyosim was able to catch two birds with one stone: work and love. I hoped that Hyosim would be filled with only happy moments, but it seemed like the twins were doubly happy as well, so I laughed once more at the author's humorous expressions. As this is the fruit of a love that started late, I hoped that Hyosim would be happier with Taeho and the babies.

Q. Is there anything you would like to say as you bid farewell to Lee Hyo-sim after completing a long work?

A. I felt sorry for Hyosim thinking of her family more than herself, but at the same time, I felt it was great. Like a roly-poly, Hyosim was a brave person who endured everything alone, but now that she can lean on me during difficult times and receive a lot of love, I hope that the future will be filled with only happier things. “Let’s be happy, Hyosim!”

Q. Would you like to say something to the viewers who supported and loved you?

A. I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again to the viewers who loved ‘Hyosim, Each Life’ until the end. I wanted to give comfort through a drama, but instead, it was a work that left me with warm support. I will send Hyosim well and make sure that Yui can show another good side of herself. thank you
