Eru, first trial of appeal today (7th)... Charges of drunk driving and tampering
Singer Eru (real name Cho Seong-hyun) appears in court again on charges including drunk driving.

On the 7th, the Seoul Western District Court's 2-2 Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Lee Hyun-woo) will hold the first appeal trial of Eru, who was indicted on charges of aiding the escape of a criminal, drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act, and speeding.

Previously, in the first trial, Eru was sentenced to six months in prison and one year of probation. The prosecution, which had requested a one-year prison sentence and a 100,000 won fine, appealed the court's ruling. The prosecution said, “We appealed to seek a more severe sentence commensurate with the crime.”

In September 2022, Iru was caught by the police while driving drunk after drinking at a restaurant in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul. However, it was made to look like the female passenger, Mr. A, was driving.

Also, in December of the same year, he was accused of letting his acquaintance B, with whom he had been drinking, drive his vehicle, or driving his acquaintance C's vehicle on Gangbyeonbuk-ro at a speed of more than 180 km/h and crashing into a guardrail. At the time, the blood alcohol content was 0.075%, which was a license suspension level.

In relation to this, Eru's lawyer appealed, "Please be lenient considering the fact that he has contributed as a leading figure of the Korean Wave in Indonesia and that he is taking care of his mother who has dementia."

Eru is the son of trot singer Tae Jin-ah, and debuted in the music industry in 2005.
