FT Island Song Seung-hyun announces retirement from entertainment industry

Song Seung-hyun, a former member of the group FT Island, announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.

On the 15th, Song Seung-hyun posted on his SNS, "I recently left the company. I would like to first express my apologies to the fans who have been waiting for me during my long break."

He then announced, "I am once again very sorry and grateful to the fans who have been waiting without any news and for not communicating smoothly. After much consideration, I plan to leave the entertainment industry and possibly leave Korea to try to live a new life."

In addition, he said, "It's been 4 years since I left the team called FT Island and worked as an actor, but what was more difficult than the new job and the new environment was the uncertain wait and interpersonal relationships that I didn't know when it would come."

Song Seung-hyun said, "No matter what I do, there will never be an easy job or an easy relationship, but for me, I will try to live a healthy, regular life that I can run every day."

Lastly, he added, “I really wanted to say that I am more grateful than anyone else to the fans who have waited, and I hope that you too will always live a healthy and happy life without getting sick physically or mentally.”

Song Seung-hyun joined the group in 2009, starting with activities for FT Island's EP album 'Jump Up'. In 2019, after the end of his exclusive contract with the agency, he left FT Island and turned into an actor.
