Ji Chang-wook, controversy over indoor smoking

Actor Ji Chang-wook was embroiled in controversy over indoor smoking during rehearsals for the recently concluded drama 'Welcome to Samdali'.

Recently, the making video of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Welcome to Samdali' was released. The video shows Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hye-sun, and others rehearsing with the staff. After the video was released, controversy over Ji Chang-wook's indoor smoking arose in online communities on February 10th.

Ji Chang-wook was caught smoking a liquid electronic cigarette during rehearsal with Shin Hye-sun, Lee Jae-won, and Bae Myung-jin. Although the smoke exhaled was not visible, it appears to be an electronic cigarette in Ji Chang-wook's hand. In particular, Ji Chang-wook drew criticism for smoking an electronic cigarette as if nothing had happened despite being with his colleagues on an indoor set.

After the controversy arose, 'Welcome to Samdali' only deleted Ji Chang-wook's smoking part from the making video. Ji Chang-wook has not revealed any position regarding the controversy.

Meanwhile, 'Welcome to Samdali' is about the dragon-like Jo Sam-dal (played by Shin Hye-seon), who grew up in a stream at the foot of Hallasan Mountain, loses everything one day, plummets headlong into a fall, and returns to his hometown with Cho Yong-pil (played by Ji Chang-wook), who cherished the stream. A story about finding love again while taking a breather. In the play, Ji Chang-wook plays the role of Cho Yong-pil. 'Welcome to Samdali' ended on the 21st of last month with the highest viewership rating of 12.4%.
