"Company loss of personal bribes" Kim Soo-mi's mother accused of embezzlement at Morning Glory F&B

Actress Kim Soo-mi and her son Jung Myung-ho were accused of embezzlement.

According to The Fact on the 22nd, Morning Glory F&B, a distribution company that sells processed foods such as kimchi and crab, sued Kim Soo-mi and her son Jeong on the 16th for violating the Act on Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement).

According to the report, Youngdong Law Firm said, "As directors and shareholders, Soo-mi Kim and her son, Myeong-ho Jeong, on several occasions transferred Morning Glory F&B's unique brand 'Soo-mi Kim' to third parties without permission and personally received money and valuables, causing losses to the company." He stated the reason for filing the complaint.

They added that they wanted to resolve and negotiate internally, but because several victims were raising issues, Kim Soo-mi and her mother were held responsible.

In relation to this, Myung-ho Jeong is said to have refuted the claim, calling it “absurd.” Mr. Jeong said, "I have suffered because the fatal mistakes of the current CEO who sued me have been revealed, and I have already filed two complaints, including embezzlement fraud and forgery of private documents."

Morning Glory F&B is a food distribution company that manufactures and sells side dishes such as kimchi, crab, and salted fish using Kim Soo-mi's portrait rights. Kim Soo-mi and her son Jeong served as co-CEOs, but Jeong was dismissed by a board decision in November of last year and currently holds the title of director. Mr. Jeong was previously accused of business embezzlement in 2022, but was cleared of the charges last year.
