Chorokbaem, provisional seizure of appearance fees confirmed
Currently, Moko ENT and Chorokbaem E&M are in the process of a trial related to the cancellation of Kim Hee-jae's concert.
Barun Law Firm, Moko Ent's legal representative, announced on the 9th that the court made a quick decision on provisional seizure of Moko Ent's application to seize the appearance fees paid by Kim Hee-jae and Chorokbaem E&M.
On the 5th, the court decided to provisionally seize the appearance fees of Chorokbaem E&M's celebrities for the 340 million won that Moko Ent claimed as direct damages due to the cancellation of the concert contract against Chorokbaem E&M.
Once the provisional seizure decision is delivered to the broadcasting company, which is the 3rd party debtor, payment of broadcast appearance fees to Kim Hee-jae and Chorokbaem E&M's celebrities will be prohibited from then on.
However, Chorokbaem E&M reacted strangely to the provisional seizure decision. Chorokbaem E&M explained, “The decision to seize provisional seizure is a power that can be exercised only when the document requirements are met,” and “This is Moko Ent’s strategy to create a negative perception among the public during the trial in relation to this case.”
He continued, “Currently, we have not received a decision on provisional seizure,” and added, “Once we receive the notice, we plan to apply for termination of seizure through deposit.”
