Self-reflection and apology, basis for escaping guilt
The Netflix series ‘The Glory’ was popular. The scene that clearly expressed 'school violence' captivated viewers. Although the ending has not been released yet, the core of the content is ‘good and punishing evil’ towards the perpetrator. The drama is about ‘good and punishing evil’, but in reality, there are times when it is quite the opposite.
Group Stray Kids' Hyunjin and actor Kim Dong-hee are perpetrators of 'school violence'. After the revelations broke out, the two people only took a 'moment of self-reflection' and are ignoring the controversy. Intoxicated with popularity and love, the weight of the sin is not light enough to forget one's past.
Both Hyunjin and Kim Donghee were involved in controversy last year. Mr. A claimed to be Hyunjin's middle school classmate. Mr. A reported that he suffered verbal abuse, sexual harassment, abusive jokes, and bullying from Hyunjin during his school days.
Hyunjin's agency, JYP Entertainment, took the position, "We are making our best efforts to confirm the facts." Afterwards, Hyunjin posted a handwritten apology and bowed his head, saying, “I feel embarrassed when I look back on my actions when I was worse off than I am now.”

Actor Kim Dong-hee belatedly acknowledged some of the allegations of school violence. Because of that, I came back later than Hyunjin. Kim Dong-hee immediately took legal action when controversy over school violence arose. Kim Dong-hee, who always said no. In the end, he admitted to the school violence and apologized.
Kim Dong-hee confessed his feelings, saying, "I think I did not know my friend's feelings deeply due to my careless judgment and thoughts when I was young." A dark past that has already exploded. Also, many people felt disappointed by his appearance of making excuses instead of acknowledging them.

This is a line from Choi Hye-jeong (Cha Joo-young), one of the perpetrators of school violence 17 years ago in 'The Glory'. It is just an excuse given by the perpetrators to escape their guilt. The same goes for self-reflection and apology.
In Hyunjin and Kim Donghee's apology, the subject was limited to 'past me' rather than 'present me'. I thought of myself as a person now and myself as a perpetrator of school violence separately. This is also just a basis for escaping guilt.
Being a celebrity is a profession that makes a living through popularity and love. Living with someone's love even after causing irreparable harm to someone is a different reality from 'The Glory'.
