“I received insomnia medication from Mr. A” Lee Seon-gyun, ‘intentional’ to suppress investigation… Mobile phone forensics ‘attention’

The investigation into actor Lee Sun-gyun (48), who is suspected of drug use, is accelerating. Lee Seon-gyun, who had been quiet so far, opened his mouth when asked by the police during the second summons.

Lee Sun-gyun attended the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station in Namdong-gu, Incheon around 2pm on the 4th and received a second summons from the police. On the 3rd, the day before the investigation, the National Institute of Forensic Science (National Forensic Service) analyzed the results and found that no drug substances were detected in Lee Seon-gyun's hair, and the result was negative. Although this evaluation implies that the person did not use drugs at least 10 months ago, the police also took into account the possibility that the person used drugs more than 10 months ago and the possibility that there may have been activities that affected the results of the evaluation, such as dyeing or bleaching.

While the prevailing opinion was that it was very unlikely that Lee Sun-kyun would admit to the drug charges in a situation where he received a negative test result, it was claimed that Lee Sun-kyun actually admitted to the charges during the police investigation that day. It is claimed that Lee Sun-gyun made a statement to the effect that he 'dose the drug without knowing it was a drug', which can be interpreted to mean that he took the drug but without intention.

However, one of Lee Sun-gyun's close associates refuted that there was a mistake in the wording itself, 'de facto recognition.' The aide claimed that this misunderstanding occurred because Lee Sun-kyun's statements and answers were intertwined while he was being interrogated by the police. A close associate said, "During the second summons, Lee Seon-gyun made a statement to the effect that 'I gave it to Mr. A, saying it was medication he had been prescribed for insomnia,' and when asked by the police, 'Did you not know it was a drug?', he answered 'I didn't know.'" He emphasized. It is said that Lee Seon-gyun had once received insomnia medication, which was not a narcotic, and it was the police's question that referred to the medication as a narcotic. Therefore, the police must prove whether the 'insomnia medicine' mentioned by Lee Seon-kyun was a 'drug'.

When asked whether Lee Sun-gyun actually admitted to the charges, the police said, "We cannot confirm."

Seon-gyun Lee received medication prescribed for insomnia from Mr. A, and did not know that the medication was a narcotic. Even if the police prove that the drug in question is a drug and discover the circumstances that Lee Sun-kyun took the drug, in order to create meaningful evidence, someone must directly testify to the effect that they 'saw Lee Sun-kyun take the drug.' Furthermore, because 'whether intentionality' has emerged as a very important issue, direct evidence is needed that Lee Sun-kyun took the medication of his own volition.

Lee Sun-kyun's cell phone forensics is expected to be very important evidence here. Previously, Lee Seon-gyun said he submitted his cell phone, and the police would have gotten their hands on the contents of Lee Sun-kyun's cell phone. In it, direct evidence must be found as to whether Lee Seon-kyun took the medication willingly.

Meanwhile, Big Bang's G-Dragon (35, real name Kwon Ji-yong), who was implicated in the same incident as Lee Sun-gyun and was booked on drug charges, voluntarily appeared at Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station on this day and submitted body hair and urine, saying he would actively participate in the investigation.
