Mija "I can't go on my honeymoon with Kim Tae-hyun because I'm busy doing YouTube."
We recently met Mija, who is actively working as a YouTuber, at the Hankyung Ten Asia headquarters in Jungnim-dong, Seoul.
Mija said that the reason she decided to marry Kim Tae-hyun was because they felt like family. Mija said, "The reason I viewed marriage negatively and avoided it was because I couldn't trust people. They say that even if you've been in a relationship for a long time, you'll change once you get married." However, "I felt comfortable after meeting my husband. The person was the same front and back, and he was always there without change. There was nothing suspicious," she said, expressing her special feelings toward Kim Tae-hyun. Also, "Normally people don't feel insecure about their families. I felt comfortable with my husband. Normally, when dating, I try to make myself look good both internally and externally to look good, but I didn't do that to my husband. It was the same with my husband. Wearing slippers. "I went out and ate sundae soup and came back... I was happy in small ways. I was confident that I would be happy if I married someone like this and that we would become a family," he confessed.
Mija said that she and Kim Tae-hyun "didn't like formalities, so we originally weren't going to have a wedding." He continued, "We invited only a few relatives, about a dozen to one house. In total, there were about 30 guests from both families."
Regarding Kim Tae-hyun's changes before and after marriage, Mija smiled and said, "He has become much more affectionate." Mija said, "Kim Tae-hyun is a Busan man, so he tends to be blunt, but these days, he has excellent empathy, and when I tell him about something that upsets him, he gets several times more angry than me and threatens to call and argue. So sometimes, I'm scared to talk to him. When I'm dating, he's indifferent. “I used to have that side, but these days, I express it more and take care of it more,” he said happily.
When asked about the good things about marriage, Mija replied, "I feel relieved. I have a sense of stability." He then burst into laughter, saying, “My mom and subscribers all nagged me, telling me to ‘get married,’ but I’m glad I can get rid of it now.” Also, "It gives me strength to have someone by my side throughout my life. The older I get, the more I catch a cold these days, and I wonder what I would have done if I were alone and couldn't go to the hospital. When we get sick, we take care of each other by our side. I want to live a fun life with this person for the rest of my life." . When my mother first saw Taehyun, she said, ‘You are the person who will come to my funeral.’ Isn’t this a big relationship? When I have a photo shoot, he takes me there and coordinates my outfits and accessories. He is reassuring. I take care of everything. “I have one side, but my husband is delicate. It’s the perfect combination,” she boasted.
He said, “I couldn’t go on my honeymoon.” Because he was busy with work, he “didn’t have time.” Mija said, “I put a lot of effort into writing the subtitles, so it takes 4 to 5 days. My only hobby these days is eating chicken or something and binge-watching a drama together.”
Regarding plans for the second generation, Mija said, "There is nothing concrete yet. If we are going to think about it, we will think about it around the end of this year." Mija said, "The YouTube channel I'm currently working on is about drinking, and live commerce also calls me when selling alcohol and snacks. I can't suddenly quit my job, right? There's no guarantee that I'll have a baby since I have a physical age, so my husband and I are at the end of the year. I said I should take my time and think about it. My husband says that we can have fun together even if we don't have children, but both parents want it and subscribers only talk about babies. Half of the comments are about that. Since many of the channel's subscribers are in their 50s and 70s, everyone “I think it’s because he thinks of me as his own daughter,” he said. He joked, "I'm worried about whether I should get pregnant even though everyone wants it."
Born in 1984, Mija began her career in the entertainment industry in earnest by passing the MBC comedian recruitment exam in 2009. Since February 2020, the YouTube channel ‘Mizane Tavern’ has been opened and operated. The main concept of the video is drinking alone, drinking with friends and family, and eating snacks. Mija married comedian Kim Tae-hyun in April 2022.
