The late Heo Cham, a ‘national MC’ who turned a blind eye after battling liver cancer

Heo Cham passed away on February 1 last year after battling liver cancer. Age 73. At the time, the deceased did not announce that he was suffering from illness for fear of worrying those around him.
Heo Cham is from Busan and debuted in the entertainment industry as an MC on TBC's '7 Greatest Singers Show' in 1971. Since then, he has hosted numerous broadcasts such as 'Show Show Show', 'Challenge Housewife Song Star', 'Gayo Cheongbaekjeon', and 'All-Star Cheongbaekjeon', rising to the ranks of national MCs.
In particular, he received great love for hosting KBS1's 'Family Entertainment Center' for 25 years from 1984 to 2009.
Meanwhile, the deceased is resting at Gyeongchun Park Cemetery located in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do.
