Oh Young-soo, first trial on charges of forcible harassment today (3rd)
Actor Oh Young-soo (79), who was indicted on charges of forcible molestation, goes to trial for the first time.

On the afternoon of the 3rd, Detective 6 of the Seongnam branch of Suwon District Court will hold the first trial for Oh Young-soo, who was sent to trial on charges of forcible molestation. Oh Young-soo is accused of inappropriately touching the body of woman A around mid-2017. Mr. A submitted a complaint to the police in December 2021, but received a decision from the police not to forward the case. After filing an appeal, the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office, Seongnam Branch, investigated again.
It was reported that Oh Young-soo denied the charges during the prosecution's investigation, saying, "It was a one-sided claim from the other party." However, the prosecution indicted Oh Young-soo without detention on charges of forcible molestation in November last year, and he will be judged by the law five years after the incident.
Meanwhile, Oh Young-soo appeared as an oil man suffering from a brain tumor in the Netflix original series 'Squid Game', which was released in September 2021, and gained global recognition by being nicknamed 'Grandpa Kanbu'. In particular, he became a hot topic as he became the first Korean actor to win the Best Supporting Actor Award in the TV category at the US Golden Globe Awards in January last year.
