Byun Yo-han wins 6 awards with ‘Hansan: Appearance of the Dragon’

Actor Byun Yo-han swept the awards ceremony with the movie 'Hansan: Rise of the Dragon'.

At the '59th Baeksang Arts Awards' held on the 28th, actor Byun Yo-han won the Best Supporting Actor Award in the film category for 'Hansan: Rise of the Dragon'. In particular, Byun Yo-han won his first trophy at the 'Baeksang Arts Awards' 15 years after his debut.

Byun Yo-han said, “I am invited once every two years when I film a work, but I think it is my first time receiving an award in about 10 years. “Thank you to the judges,” he said. He continued, “Among the nominees, three of them worked with me, and I know how great they are as actors. “If an opportunity like this comes again in the future, I will congratulate you without hesitation, so please congratulate me,” he joked, making everyone laugh.

He also said, “It’s really amazing to see seniors who have been acting for a long time. “I know it is not easy, so I will make good use of the time given to me and greet you with a good work,” he said. “I am currently filming a drama called ‘Uncle Samsik,’ and I hope to be invited again next year. “I hope you are always healthy,” he concluded.

Byun Yo-han played the role of 'Wakizaka', the supreme commander of the Japanese naval forces, in the movie 'Hansan: Appearance of the Dragon', which attracted 7.26 million viewers last year, and gave his best performance. The script was inspected locally to learn the archaic language, and the character was completed without hesitation by gaining unlimited weight.

Previously, Byun Yo-han won the Asia Star Award in the acting category at the 17th Asia Model Festival, the Asia Star Award at the 8th Asia Star Awards, the Male Star of the Year Award at the 31st Buil Film Awards, and the 43rd Blue Dragon Film Awards. He won the Best Supporting Actor Award and the Best Supporting Actor Award at the 58th Grand Bell Awards.

He won a total of 6 awards for the movie 'Hansan: Appearance of the Dragon' alone, including the Best Supporting Actor award at the '59th Baeksang Arts Awards'.

Actor Byun Yo-han predicted that he would meet the public through various works such as the dramas 'Death to Snow White', 'Uncle Samsik' and the movie 'She is Dead'.
