The group EXO members came together as a whole for Kai, who was entering the hospital.

Kai entered the Army Training Center on this day, received basic military training, and then served as a social worker. According to his agency SM Entertainment, no separate enlistment event was held.

The news of Kai's enlistment was announced a week before his enlistment. The agency said, "He was preparing for EXO's comeback scheduled for this year, but due to a recent change in Military Manpower Administration regulations, he will enter the Army Training Center on May 11, receive basic military training, and then perform alternative service as a social worker."

Kai said through a live broadcast, "I prepared a lot, but it's a pity. I'm upset that I can't show it, but wouldn't it be okay if I come back and show it? Where else would Kai go? If I go back, there's nothing left to do. I'll do the best I can before I go." said.

Additionally, Kai held a free fan meeting before entering the facility and met with fans. He said, "I will do my best to remember today. What can I do if I regret, resent, and feel sad? I will come back soon and run like crazy." He added, "I always have only you in my head.
