Seunggi Lee appointed as public relations ambassador for climate crisis resilience

Lee Seung-gi formed a deep relationship with the Red Cross, starting with his activities with the Red Cross Youth (RCY). A total of 760 million won was donated for relief efforts for forest fires on the East Coast and Gangneung and for the production of mobile meal vehicles and blood donation buses.
Through this appointment, he plans to continue working as a public relations ambassador for strengthening climate and environmental disaster resilience in the Asia-Pacific region, raising awareness of climate and environmental disasters and promoting ways to strengthen resilience.
Ambassador Lee expressed his determination for his new role, saying, “Through my experience with the Youth Red Cross, I realized the importance of environmental protection, and I will work to strengthen climate and environmental disaster resilience in the Asia-Pacific region.”
The Asia-Pacific Disaster Resilience Center (APDRC), jointly established in 2016 by the Korean Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), is the first and only disaster resilience research and education institute in the Asia-Pacific region and carries out climate and environmental crisis prevention and response activities of Red Cross Societies in 38 countries.
