Gucci show at Gyeongbokgung Palace, after-party ‘noise nuisance’ controversy

Gucci held the '2024 Cruise Fashion Show' at Geunjeongjeon in Gyeongbokgung Palace on the 16th. Afterwards, an after-party was held at a nearby building. It is known that many celebrities as well as fashion industry celebrities who attended the show gathered at the party.
The after party started around 10pm. However, a post was posted on one SNS asking, ‘How do I report noise pollution?’ Mr. A, who lives near the event venue, expressed his difficulties, saying, "It was taken with a 10x zoom. The music is so loud that it even reaches my room. It's as if speakers were installed outside. Even the laser lights are flashing."
‘Their own party’ continued even at midnight. Mr. A also expressed his discomfort, saying, "I really think I'm going to go mental. I don't know why they're making noise like that to the outside world. This is where people live. How can this happen? Can't we act like a luxury company?" As a result, a police report was made.
Mr. B also said on social media, "We kept pounding until around 12 o'clock at night, and then the police finally showed up. I wondered what it was, but they said it was the Gucci show after party at Gyeongbokgung Palace."
In addition, in various online communities, reactions such as "Why is that a nuisance on a weekday evening?" and "What does luxury have to do with ordinary citizens? What is the city of Seoul doing?"
The fashion show that day was the first cruise fashion show held in Asia. The name of the event was 'Cosmogoni', a new collection presented by Gucci's creative director Alessandro Michele.
At the time, top stars such as singer and actress IU, actors Lee Jung-jae, Kim Hye-soo, and Kim Hee-ae, as well as Hani from the group New Jeans, attended the event, creating a hot topic. Elizabeth Olsen, Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan and others attended.
