'I'm Solo' receives 'caution' sanctions from the National Defense Commission
The program 'I'm Solo' was sanctioned by the Korea Communications Standards Commission for violating gender equality.

ENA PLAY, SBS Plus' 'I Am SOLO', which aired on the 17th, before the broadcast began, "In the content broadcast in September 2022, Article 30 (Gender Equality) Paragraph 1 and Article 51 (Broadcast Language) of the Regulations on Broadcast Deliberation “For broadcasting content that violated Paragraph 3, we received a ‘caution’ from the Korea Communications Standards Commission following its decision to impose sanctions,” a notice screen said.

Last March, the Korea Communications Standards Commission held a meeting and decided to take 'caution' measures for the broadcast of 'I Am Solo'.

This is because a male contestant who appeared in the 10th episode of 'I'm Solo' previously said, "I am a 'Jonjal' (very handsome) person who carries around a 'Jonye' (very pretty) person." Some viewers filed a complaint with the National Defense Commission over the remark, pointing out that "women were objectified as auxiliary tools to show off their presence or power rather than as subjects."

Commissioner Ok Si-chan said, “I felt like women were treated like accessories.” Subcommittee Chairman Lee Kwang-bok said, “As subtitles that destroy language are pouring in, there is a need to come up with some kind of standard.”
