Yoo Ah-in released from detention center after 'arrest warrant dismissed'

While the arrest warrant for actor Yoo Ah-in (real name Uhm Hong-shik, 37), who was accused of habitual drug use, was dismissed, Yoo Ah-in was surprised to be hit by a plastic bottle flying home.

At 11:30 pm on the 24th, Seoul Central District Court's chief judge Lee Min-soo, who is in charge of warrants, questioned the suspect before detaining Yoo Ah-in (warrant review) and said, "There is a concern that the suspect may destroy evidence or flee beyond the scope of the exercise of the right to defend." It is difficult to conclude," he said, "and it is difficult to recognize the reason and necessity of arrest at this stage."

At the same time, the court explained, "The suspect admits to a large extent the basic facts themselves, and is reflecting on smoking marijuana." .

Accordingly, Yoo Ah-in, who had been waiting in the detention center of Mapo Police Station since the afternoon of the same day, was immediately sent home. Yoo Ah-in, who escaped from the police station, insisted, "There is no such fact at all" when asked about the suspicion of destroying evidence. Also, when asked, "Do you think it was an unreasonable attempt by the police?" Yoo Ah-in replied, "I don't think it's a matter for me to judge." When asked about the alleged cocaine use, he left, saying, "It is difficult to tell the truth through the media. I will faithfully participate in the remaining procedures."

However, in the process of moving to the vehicle, Yoo Ah-in was caught being surprised by a plastic bottle thrown by a citizen, and his face hardened. Yoo Ah-in looked back and confirmed, and the bodyguard led him into the vehicle with a close mark on him.

On the other hand, Yoo Ah-in's closest aide and writer Choi Mo, who graduated from an art college, was also moved to the detention center at Mapo Police Station after questioning the suspect before arrest at 11:30 am on the same day, but was released after the warrant was dismissed.

Yoo Ah-in is accused of using a total of 5 types of drugs. In February, the police received the results of an analysis from the National Institute of Scientific Investigation that found four types of narcotic components, including hemp, propofol, cocaine, and ketamine, in Yoo Ah-in's hair and urine. Circumstances of prescriptions for non-medical purposes were captured.
