'Lie Detector' Kim So-hyun and Hwang Min-hyun's mysterious first meeting
On the 12th, tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'It's Useless Lies' released the first teaser video foreshadowing the performance of liar hunter Mok Sol-hee (played by Kim So-hyun), who judges all lies. Mok Sol-hee's curious eyes when she encounters a suspicious man, Kim Do-ha (played by Hwang Min-hyun), raises curiosity about their relationship.
'Useless Lies' is a truth-detecting romance about Liar Hunter Mok Sol-hee, who cannot trust people because of her ability to hear lies, and Kim Do-ha, a genius composer who hides her unspeakable identity. The sweet romance and chewy mystery unfolding on top of a reality-based fantasy raise expectations for a differentiated romantic comedy. Director Nam Seong-woo and writer Seo Jeong-eun, who were greatly loved through 'Little Living Together', 'Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Tuesday', and 'Kkondae Intern', are in harmony and add to the anticipation.
Kim So-hyun took on the role of 'Mok Sol-hee', a liar hunter who hears lies. Cynical because he grew up listening to all kinds of lies in the world, he faces a new phase in his life when he gets involved with the terribly suspicious man next door, Kim Do-ha. Hwang Min-hyun transforms into 'Kim Do-ha', a star composer with an unspeakable secret. While living the life of a faceless composer with genius composing ability, he meets Mok Sol-hee, the strange girl next door, and regains his lost smile.
Mok Sol-hee, who has lost faith in humans, and Kim Do-ha, who is terribly suspicious but does not lie. Expectations are high on the synergy of the two young actors who will complete the truth-detection romance by solidly building up the narratives of those with special relationships.
In the meantime, the first teaser video that takes off the veil begins with the special ability of Liar Hunter Mok Sol-hee, who serves the 'Spirit of Truth (?)'. Following the phrase 'I will determine all lies', it is also exciting to see Mok Sol-hee transforming into a role tailored to the client from an abandoned factory to a high-end restaurant. He runs to wherever his clients are and without hesitation reads 'truth' and 'lies'. Like a 'fact bomber', the truths revealed in detail create a thrilling catharsis, but sometimes uncomfortable and bitter.
There is a moment when Mok Sol-hee's expression, which has always maintained a cool face, changes to a smile at once. It is 'money'. Mok Sol-hee, who is happy seeing the commission fee, has doubts, saying, "Do you know whether it's real or fake?" The following phrase, 'So what kind of truth do you want to know?' makes me more curious about how Mok Sol-hee can determine the truth.
On the other hand, the meeting with 'Kim Do-ha', a suspicious man whose abilities do not work, is also captured, amplifying curiosity. The mysterious appearance of Kim Do-ha, who is tightly hidden from head to toe, further stimulates curiosity. I wonder what kind of story the interesting meeting between the woman who hears the truth and the man who hides the truth will create.
'Useless Lies' will be broadcast for the first time on July 24th at 8:50 pm.
