Composer Lee Jun-young, known by his stage name LeeZu, has passed away at the age of 42.
According to the music industry on the 4th, composer Wang Jeong-hyun announced Lee Jun-young's passing through his social media. Wang stated, "My friend and beloved DJMAX composer LeeZu has embarked on a solitary journey," and requested, "Please remember the many songs he left behind and commemorate him so that his journey is not lonely."
Before his passing, Lee shared a video titled 'Goodbye' on his YouTube channel 'Wandering Unemployed,' leaving a message that read, "Thank you to everyone, and I'm sorry." This post is believed to be his final message, adding to the sorrow.
Lee Jun-young was active in various fields, including games, short films, and signal music, under the name 'LeeZu.' He gained recognition for tracks like 'The Guilty' and 'Burn It Down,' featured in DJMAX TECHNIKA 2.
In the wake of the sudden news, the sentiments shared by his ex-wife have also drawn attention. She revealed during a live broadcast on the 4th, "I received the news the day before yesterday. It seems life was harder than living. He appeared to have severe depression," and tearfully expressed, "If it was so hard, he should have reached out to me."
She continued, "Though we divorced, we spent 20 years together. Suddenly, I feel empty," reminiscing about him. She also shared that the day before his passing, she received a message saying, "I'm not feeling well, so if anything happens to me, please take care of my dog," adding to the heartbreak.
Lee Jun-young announced his divorce in January 2023, but continued his music career through personal albums and his YouTube channel.
