Top Korean Chefs Go Undercover in New tvN Show 'Undercover Chef'
Renowned chefs Jung Ji-sun and Kwon Sung-joon are set to embark on an overseas adventure in tvN's new variety show 'Undercover Chef'.

'Undercover Chef' features Korea's top chefs going undercover as the lowest-ranking kitchen staff in restaurants of countries that inspired their culinary roots. On October 4th, tvN released an exclusive teaser video showcasing the thrilling undercover experiences of naturalist chef Sam Kim and Chinese cuisine queen Jung Ji-sun.

The first teaser features Chef Sam Kim infiltrating a restaurant in Parma, Italy, under the alias of a farmer named Hee-tae. His awkward interactions with local staff, who question his farming background, provide comedic relief. However, his innate culinary skills shine through as he expertly handles a pasta pan, leaving his local colleagues in awe. The caption "Does anyone know my true identity?" adds an element of suspense and humor to his undercover mission.

Meanwhile, Chef Jung Ji-sun's video, set in Chengdu, China, depicts her struggles as she assumes the identity of a former boxing athlete. Despite her confidence in her Chinese culinary skills, she finds herself repeatedly apologizing with "duibuqi" in the chaotic kitchen environment. Stripped of her knife by a senior chef and bewildered by unfamiliar ingredients, her usual charisma is nowhere to be found. Her exclamations of frustration, "I'm really going crazy," and "What should I do? This is so humiliating," leave viewers wondering if she can reclaim her pride and succeed in the local kitchen.

Following Chef Kwon Sung-joon's bold claim of conquering Naples in three days, the unveiling of Sam Kim's secretive mission and Jung Ji-sun's intense adaptation completes the trio's 'Undercover' narrative. Their journey from the bottom up promises viewers a fresh and exhilarating experience.

The production team stated, "The key point is watching these top chefs, known for their reliability, face the shock of becoming incompetent rookies in unfamiliar settings, and the clash of instincts as they try to hide their skills." They invite viewers to witness the chefs' spectacular survival stories.

'Undercover Chef' premieres on October 21st at 8:40 PM.
