Super Junior's Heechul has addressed concerns about his health, stating that while his condition isn't severe, he will be taking a temporary break to rest.
JTBC's 'Knowing Bros' announced that Heechul would be pausing his activities due to health reasons. Starting from the May 9th episode, he will be absent, but this is a temporary hiatus with plans for his return.
As concerns grew, Heechul took to his personal social media to clarify, "I've been receiving a lot of worried messages from friends," and added, "I don't want to show viewers a tired or absent-minded version of myself, so I'm taking a short break." He further explained, "With recording schedules overlapping with overseas commitments, it was hard to manage my condition, so I decided to take a complete break rather than appear sporadically."
Heechul also expressed his affection for the show, saying, "'Knowing Bros' is a very precious program to me." He mentioned the new member, comedian Kim Shin-young, saying, "With my friend Kim Shin-young joining, I can rest more comfortably."
With this change, Kim Shin-young becomes the first female regular member of the show since its debut in 2015, marking a significant shift. She was chosen as a permanent member based on her quick wit and humor displayed during her previous guest appearances.
The production team expressed their excitement, stating, "Kim Shin-young instantly took control of the classroom atmosphere," and added, "She will blend naturally with the existing members and bring new energy to the show."
