In the second episode of MBC's 'Sora and Jinkyung,' aired on the 3rd, Lee So-ra and Hong Jin-kyung sent snap photos and walking videos to local agencies, seeking advice from a pioneer in international expansion, Han Hye-jin. Known for her debut at New York Fashion Week in 2006 and numerous 'firsts,' Han shared her insights, saying, 'There are times when people go slightly crazy. It happens when you're comfortable and well-fed,' and encouraged Hong with, 'You have a face that works in Paris.' She also shared practical audition tips, like preparing comfortable high heels, finding makeup that enhances appeal, and emphasizing the importance of walking, inspiring women in their 40s and 50s.
The two were uplifted by meeting Jin Tae-ok, a 93-year-old designer and a living legend in Korean fashion. Known for avoiding interviews, Jin appeared to support their challenge. She warmly welcomed Lee, who walked in her shows in the '90s, and Hong, who debuted on her stage, revealing the energy that keeps her active. Jin Tae-ok, who enjoys listening to new idol music and swims 1,000 meters daily, shared, 'A professional has no age. Life is a challenge until the end,' reigniting their passion. Encouraged by the 90-year-old mentor, the 50-year-old mentees regained their confidence.
The unexpected news left 48-year-old single Hong Jin-kyung overwhelmed, while Lee So-ra reminisced about her past experiences with one of the agencies. However, their joy was short-lived as they faced the next step: passing an English interview to secure a formal contract.
They enlisted special helpers for 'English tutoring.' Hong worked with her English-proficient daughter, Rael, to prepare interview answers. Lee met with language genius Sung Si-kyung and 'honorary Brit' Baek Jin-kyung for practical conversation tips. Sung emphasized formal English, boosting Lee's confidence by saying, 'You're the prettiest model,' while Baek, sticking to her belief that 'English is about attitude,' encouraged Lee to speak confidently, shouting 'BAMM!' Lee's captivated reaction amused Sung.
