On the October 3rd episode of KBS2TV's 'The Boss Has Donkey Ears', celebrity chef Jung Ji-sun visited Yang Joon-hyuk's business in Pohang with his son.
During the visit, Jung Ji-sun and his son explored the first-floor seafood restaurant run by Yang and the second-floor cafe managed by his wife. The cafe was adorned with memorabilia from Yang's baseball career, including framed photos.
Jung Ji-sun expressed surprise upon learning that Yang's wife bakes all the bread herself. After tasting the drinks and bread, he commented, "It's delicious," showing his satisfaction.
Yang Joon-hyuk explained that the cafe was opened to provide a seamless experience for customers who dine at the seafood restaurant and wish to enjoy coffee afterward.
When asked about the cafe's sales, Yang's wife revealed, "During the yellowtail season, we see a surge in customers, and in the summer, the nearby beach attracts many visitors." She added, "On weekends, we make about 3 to 4 million won, and during the vacation season, the cafe alone can make up to 5 million won a day," astonishing the audience.
Yang Joon-hyuk admitted that his wife handles most of the cafe operations, to which she responded, "He keeps telling me to earn and spend on my own."
He was seen asking his wife, who prepared a meal, "Is there no kimchi?" and "It's bland," while also telling her to "earn and spend from the cafe," without sharing his personal expenses.
Yang's wife mentioned that she hasn't visited their main home since the cafe opened, adding, "As you can see, I'm wearing thin clothes. My winter clothes are at the main house," shivering in the cold without a coat. Watching this in the studio, comedian Kim Young-hee remarked, "Buy her a padded jacket," and Park Myung-soo also advised, "Take care of your wife."
Yang Joon-hyuk married his wife in 2021, overcoming a 19-year age difference, and they welcomed a daughter in 2024.
