K-Pop Star Hwanhee's Emotional Journey with His Mother on 'Mr. House Husband 2'

K-pop singer Hwanhee's mother revealed her long-held feelings in front of her celebrity son after 30 years.

On the October 2nd episode of KBS2TV's 'Mr. House Husband Season 2', Hwanhee was seen making efforts to spend more time with his mother. He planned a 'filial schedule' dedicating the entire day to his mother, taking care of everything from meal preparation to household chores.

One of the activities Hwanhee chose was a visit to a photo studio, hoping to create memories with his mother who rarely traveled. However, upon arrival, his mother's reaction was unexpected.

She expressed her discomfort, saying, "Since my son is a celebrity, I feel a bit cautious. I look a bit poor and shabby, and I don't like that." Hwanhee managed to ease the situation with a light-hearted comment about non-refundable payments.

Despite her initial reluctance, the photo session continued. However, another surprising moment occurred when Hwanhee's mother requested a portrait for her funeral while he was briefly away.

She shared, "My mother passed away a few days ago. Seeing her portrait, which was just an ID photo, broke my heart." She added, "If something happens to me, there won't be a portrait, and my sons would be caught off guard. I don't have any solo photos, and I thought I should have one."

Hwanhee was deeply moved upon learning this. He was at a loss for words, saying, "Why all of a sudden..." and eventually broke into tears. His mother, seeing her son cry, felt a heavy heart.

She reflected, "Hwanhee never cries. He gets upset but doesn't cry. But he did this time. Thinking that I made my son cry, I felt so sorry and upset."

During the photo session, Hwanhee noticed changes in his mother. He reminisced, "She was very beautiful before. Even when I was young, I used to tell her she was pretty. It's like the beauty of her youth has faded away."

He continued, "She's lost so much weight, and she seems frailer. I realized how quickly time has passed when I look at her."

In an interview released after the broadcast, Hwanhee shared, "I'm trying to create memories with my mom and help her, though I'm not perfect. I never imagined she was preparing for this. I didn't think such a thing would happen."
