Yang Sang-guk's recent comments have stirred controversy, with some viewers criticizing them for revealing patriarchal attitudes.
On October 2, the YouTube channel 'Tteun Tteun' released the 106th episode of 'Pinky Go' titled 'The Ambassador is Just an Excuse.' The episode featured guests Han Sang-jin, Yang Sang-guk, and Nam Chang-hee.
He added, "That was always my dream, to support my wife by preparing breakfast. It's so fulfilling to walk her to the bus stop every day." Yoo Jae-suk responded, "Even for newlyweds, that's not easy," to which Nam replied, "I just really enjoy it."
In contrast, Yang Sang-guk expressed a different view, saying, "From my perspective, that's really risky. It's similar in dating. Seoul men are good at this, taking their dates home, but I never do."
Yoo Jae-suk asked, "You don't deliberately avoid it, do you?" Yang replied, "It's partly laziness." Han Sang-jin joked, "That won't be easy to maintain," eliciting laughter. Yang stated, "My principle is if I can't do it forever, I won't do it at all." Nam Chang-hee shared, "My wife now tells me not to see her off, but I told her to take it lightly in case I can't someday. But if I can, I'll keep doing it. I did it throughout our 4.5 years of dating."
Yoo Jae-suk concluded, "That's why you got married. I think it was right for you to sacrifice some sleep and effort. You wouldn't have met Young-kyung otherwise," bringing laughter. He then advised Yang, "Even if not every day, wouldn't it be nice to occasionally take your girlfriend home? You love her, so wouldn't you want to spend more time together?"
Yang responded, "I usually take Yoo Jae-suk's advice, but not this time. If I'm not sincere, I won't do it. With my current girlfriend, there's no concept of taking her home. She just has to sit at my place. I'm dreaming of marriage."
Viewers have reacted critically, saying, "Does he not know what should and shouldn't be said on air?", "Is being patriarchal something to brag about?", "He was doing well but now has a negative image," "Don't generalize about Gyeongsang-do," and "That's a dangerous statement."
