Former baseball player Hwang Jae-gyun, who recently divorced T-ara's Jiyeon, shared his thoughts on remarriage on the latest episode of MBN's 'Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 3'.
On the episode aired on the 1st, Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube (Kwak Jun-bin) joined Hwang Jae-gyun for a culinary trip in Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk.
During the show, Hwang revealed the reason behind his retirement. Having debuted in 2006 and announcing his retirement after the 2025 season, he candidly admitted, "My form has declined compared to my prime. I didn't want to be forced into retirement a year or two later."
Reflecting on his 20-year career, Hwang stated, "I wanted to finish as a starting player in the first team. I could have earned more if I continued playing, but I chose an honorable retirement over a hefty salary."
When asked about remarriage by Jeon Hyun-moo and Kwak Tube, Hwang expressed, "If the opportunity arises, I would like to marry again. I also want to have my own child." He added, "If I have a child, I will definitely encourage them to play baseball. I can teach them and support them the best." He even dreams of sending them to the Major Leagues.
When questioned, "What if the child dislikes baseball?" Hwang replied, "Unless they have a strong aversion, I will guide them towards baseball until they become adults."
In response to Kwak Tube's question, "Do you think you'll remarry before Hyun-moo?" Hwang confidently said, "Yes." Jeon Hyun-moo humorously replied, "You're a show-off. I've never been married, and you're talking about a second marriage?"
When asked about his ideal type, Hwang initially resisted, saying, "I don't have an ideal type these days," but later admitted, "I'm 188cm tall, so I prefer someone tall." In contrast, Jeon Hyun-moo revealed, "I like petite women," drawing attention.
Meanwhile, Hwang Jae-gyun married Jiyeon from T-ara in 2022, but they amicably divorced after two years. Post-retirement, he has been appearing on various entertainment programs.
