Singer and actor Lee Seung-gi, who is also a father, has donated his entire appearance fee to support children in need.
The child welfare organization Green Umbrella announced on the 1st that Lee Seung-gi has decided to donate his entire fee from his appearance on KBS 1TV's 'Companion' Family Month special broadcast. The donation will be used to help underprivileged children in South Korea.
In the special broadcast airing on May 2nd at 6 PM, Lee Seung-gi visited the home of Hyun-seong, a child diagnosed with developmental disabilities, and spent a day with the family. He gifted shoes to Hyun-seong, who takes care of the family and the vegetable garden in place of his ailing grandfather.
This marks Lee Seung-gi's return to 'Companion' after 11 years, having last appeared in 2015. Previously, he participated in a Lunar New Year special where he visited and supported a family raising a child with congenital hearing impairment.
The 'Companion' Family Month special will air on May 2nd at 6 PM on KBS 1TV.
Meanwhile, Lee Seung-gi married Lee Da-in, the daughter of actress Kyeon Mi-ri, in April 2023. The couple welcomed their first daughter in February the following year and announced their second pregnancy in February this year.
